Geronimo Stilton is the protagonist, narrator, and fictional author of this book. He is a talking mouse who is a journalist and editor of The Rodent’s Gazette, the most famous newspaper of the region. He lives in New Mouse City on Mouse Island and enjoys his calm and peaceful life. However, this mild-mannered rodent regularly ends up in the middle of adventures in faraway lands. Geronimo has a younger sister named Thea, a cousin named Trap, an aunt named Sweetfur, and a nephew named Benjamin, with whom he loves to play. Geronimo always seems to stumble headlong into adventures with these family members as companions.

Geronimo Stilton is the pseudonym of Elisabetta Dami, an Italian-American author of children’s books.

Dami was born in the year 1958, and began writing when she was 19. She started her career as a proofreader at the family publishing house. She writes adventurous stories that revolve around the protagonist Geronimo Stilton, and even her personal life is an adrenaline fuelled one, as she enjoys travelling and trekking. Dami has sold more than 65 million copies of her books on Geronimo Stilton, both in Italy and abroad. She spends her time in Arizona and Italy.
